Pathways is celebrating its second birthday on June 18, 2009 with the release and launch of the Pathways Friendship Round Dance CD at the Annual General Meeting.
In January, Lead Singers from across Western Canada came to Calgary to pay tribute to Guest of Honor Gordon McGilvery during our annual Round Dance. Over 800 people attended the celebration of the spirit of friendship and community at the Bowness Sportsplex.
The recording project was funded by a grant from The Calgary Foundation’s Organization Development and Transformation granting program. Proceeds from sales of the CD will support future Round Dances.
The CD is available through Pathways using our Online Donation link.
The Annual General Meeting takes place Thursday, June 18 at 5:00 p.m. at the Bowness Seniors Club, 6422 – 35 Ave NW, Calgary. Members receive a $5 discount on the CD. Memberships are $2 and are available at the door.
Contact Niki at 403-247-5003 for information or confirm attendance by email. |

The most valued resource in our organization is people. We foster care, dignity and respect for each other. We believe education enhances growth and development of the individual and the organization, and that innovation and a sense of discovery lead us into the future. We also believe in collaboration with community partners and like-minded agencies.
Please take time to read about our current employment opportunities.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
(1) Pathways is currently seeking families to mentor youth in their homes for our Pathways Mentoring Homes program. This program is an extension of our group home, transitioning Aboriginal youth from group care to stable, long-term residence in the community. Each youth is involved in matching with a Mentor who provides a supportive, culturally respectful home responsive to that youth’s individual needs. Mentoring homes are licensed by Child and Family Services, and 10 hours/week of professional support and cultural resources are provided.
(2) Pathways is currently seeking families to mentor youth in their homes for our Youth Transition to Adulthood (YTA) program. The YTA program provides services for youth ages 16 and up who have involvement with Alberta Child and Family Services and who are transitioning to independent adult status. We offer two types of placement. In the first type trained mentors share their homes with youth and work closely with them to increase the youth’s self-sufficiency and independent living skills.
(3) Pathways recruits relief youth support workers for our group home, Mentoring Homes and YTA programs on an ongoing basis.
At this time there are no other employment opportunities. If you are interested in being considered for a position please forward your resume and cover letter to our office. Resumes will be kept on file for 6 months. |
